DAY 5 Travelling back to Rivendell for a visit. It is very hot in the Lone Lands! Faun and I have to drink lots of water to keep ourselves hydrated.
I found out this week why they call it the Lone Lands. There's not a soul in sight! Unless you count bush prowlers and birds of prey, of course. Besides them, we are indeed alone. I did see an Elf riding in the opposite direction than I. We stopped and talked for a moment. He told me his name was Celodrid. He also told me that many Elves were leaving for the White Ships very soon! How unfortunate that the some of the first beings to walk this land are leaving the rest to their own devices.
DAY 7 It has taken us so much time to reach even the Trollshaws! It seems as if more than half the journey was resting, and less walking. We are at the Bridge here, seperating the Lone Lands from the Trollshaws. We shall wait here for half a day, I have decided, and gather provissions. It will only take one more day to reach Rivendell, if my calculations are correct. I only hope we don't run into any trolls on the way, they can prove difficult to defeat...
DAY 9 Finally we stand at the gates of Imladris! I had almost lost hope. There is no road to follow for the final stretch of land, and it is so easy to lose one's way, even with a map's guidance. We ran into a hungry troll the other day, it was just our luck the sun was coming out! It may seem easy to outrun a troll, considering their size and clumsiness, but they run faster than any man. We had to wait this one out in a tall, thick tree while it made several attempts to knock us down.
