A Silly Poem

I wrote a silly poem
To read it out to you
I hope it brings a smile
For silly poems do

It's only got six verses
Each one has four short lines
So if I read it quickly
It shouldn't take much time

I wrote it out last evening
Whilst lying on my bed
I grabbed a quill and paper
And wrote what's in my head.

But trouble came a-calling
The words went wild and sprawling
I had a tricky time
With how to make it rhyme

But still I kept on writing
To make the words sound fun
And soon enough I noted
I'd had it almost done

So now my poem's over
It's time I must depart
It was a silly poem
I told you at the start
