The Battle of the Lost Temple

The Battle of the Lost Temple

Told by Lord Khalis, captain of the Warband.

Transcribed in the notes of Loremaster Virthalion.

"...Now this is a place where the banners of the warband had been before,

Twice trod and both ended in retreat for the threat was to great for our skills.

On this occasion rode Virthalion, wise in the knowlege of the Eldar;

At his side rode Azgarzir, twin blades strapped across his saddle horn.

Then at their head rode our lady Elisbeth, and I brought up the rear.

We did battle for many hours in that ancient place,

With Beleriand steel and Lore.

Men of Angmar, trolls of might and undead put their strength before us;

But we stood and did not falter.

And do you know why?

No one warrior claimed that day;

We remained standing because we were one in battle;

We had no weakness the enemy could seek;

Each warrior shielded his brother."
