"There is a heroism in crime as well as in virtue. Vice and infamy have their altars and their religion." William Hazlitt
----Rimedur wasn't always a fighter. When he was in Gondor, he took great love for arts, especially in writing and music. His mother would tell him stories of travelling bards and gave him books written by famous writers. His father had always tried to get him to take an interest in combat, but he never could get the hang of it, which his father eventually accepted.
----Rimedur was, however, willing to fight for his younger sister, Autumn. He had made sure to keep a close eye on her ever since she was six when a boy pushed her down a ramp. Autumn suffered a minor head injury, but Rimedur came close to killing the boy every time they met.
----One day, Rimedur ventured into his father's study and found some interesting notes and charts with a layout of the city. It appeared to be very important, but not official. There were many passages on the map that he did not recognize. And he had visited most of the secret ways in and out of the city. There was a dark green, almost black, dotted line that traced a certain route to the White Tower. Rimedur did not get enough time to look at all of the papers, for he heard the sound of his father walking down the hall to the study.
----The next day before Rimedur's father went to his post. Three guards came knocking at the door Calen's door. They came with two other men in shackles whom Rimedur recognized as Lord Dawnforge, leader of the Dawnforge clan, and Beltamir, father of Aramir and Ranger of Ithilien. They had been plotting to kill Lord Denethor and they had reason to believe that Rimedur's father was part of it as well, but no proof. The accused traitor went with them confidently, but Rimedur tried to stop them. He kicked under his chain hauberk in his manhood, but the second guard slapped him with the back of his hand so hard that he was knocked against the wall and knocked out.
----When he awoke, he found himself in a dark room that was lit by one eerie candle, casting black shadows that bounced around with the flame. He was to be interrogated about his father and, at the same time, punished for assaulting a guard of the Citadel. When the guard came in, he was with a masked man that held and severly used whip. The guard asked Rimedur if he had seen his father acting suspiciously. Rimedur remained silent each time he asked. The guard sighed and then chuckled. He would forget his words that he spoke with such emotionlessness; "Stand against the wall."
----Rimedur faced wall. He was then told to take off his shirt, which he cooperated with. The masked man was then told that "it was his turn." He didn't see it, but Rimedur could sense his malvolence and cruelty. The man lashed at Rimedur ten times until his back started to bleed. He had only felt the first one, however. He was used to getting hurt from his father's attempts to make him interested in combating.
----He was turned around forcibly and lashed in the face twice. The guard held out his hand to stay the whip. He then asked Rimedur again. This time, Rimedur told him about the papers he had found in his father's study the other night. The guard pressed his hand against Rimedur's bare chest and whispered to him, "Thank you... for your cooperation. You will be released, along with your sister." Rimedur felt a carnal anger rise in him at the guard's words. He wanted to attack, but he felt weaker that it had hurt.
----The next day, his father was publicly convicted of treason and Rimedur and Autumn were forced to watch. Even as he, and the other conspiritors, were hanged in front of the entire city. Afterwards, the brother and sister, along with the families of Dawnforge and Beltamir, were banished from Gondor.
