Outward Appearance

An elf of average birthright, neither slender nor frail of body. Taller than many women of the race of man, and yet not as tall as most elf-maidens. Neither is she as fair - though she may be considered as such by the measure of other races.

Long ashen hair lies pinned back neatly from her pine-green eyes, allowing both freedom of sight and movement.

Despite spending the majority of her time outside and in the wilds, there is a noticable freshness about her; from her clean skin to her well-maintained clothes. Ever does she walk barefoot, and often does she stray from roads to feel the grass beneath her feet.

Though she may appear reserved - often speaking only when addressed by another - her quietness hides a mirthful soul and when she does speak, her voice is soft and gentle, echoing with cheer. Even when seemingly lost in thought, however, her guard never drops and her eyes are never still; roaming thoughtfully in quiet observation of those around her.

Background

Sired and born in Greenwood the Great - now called Mirkwood - one hundred and fourteen years ago into a family of bowyers; Lanwing spent her childhood mostly in the forest near to the Elvenking's door with the few other elven offspring which inhabited the subterranean halls.

As she grew older and bolder, she ventured deeper into the forest; filled with the bravery of youth and eager to fight back against the evil which threatened the borders of her home. She soon learnt however, that there was much more to fighting the evil of the world than a brave heart and a strong bow. Whilst out alone one day she fell victim to a small patrol of spiders and found herself both out-manouvered and overpowered by the creatures. Lost she would have been that day if not for the great antlers of a passing stag, which drove back the arachnids and allowed the young elf to flee.

That very day Lanwing swore an oath to herself. To venture forth from her woodland home and journey out into the wide world; only to return when she was both skilled and experienced enough to hold her own in the Woodland Guard. Into city, mountain and wildlands she would travel, seeking to train her mind and skill; knowing not when she would once again see her home, but safe in the knowledge that when she did, she would be able to protect both herself and those she cares for.
