The Elves in Green (Part Five)

They rode through Rhovanion with almost no words between them. The Green Lord was half mad and half awake, with his head gazing aimlessly at the ground. Arvaryar was leading his steed, calmly but aware of the surroundings.

They made no contact with the free people of that land save for the one time in West Rohan, when he judged it would be wise to change the steed. His horse, Loyalty, was given to him by the dwarves of Ered Luin, The Blue Mountain, before he set on his journey, he remembered Allrins speech about Loyalty when they acquired her from an acquaintance of his: a dwarf horse and pony breeder "Aye, she will do, Loyalty is a fine name for any beast bred by the proud folk". And it proved more than true, though she was smaller than most horses he knew, almost a pony for the Noldo warrior, she stayed true and never knew fear in her eyes, and understood the thoughts of the exiled elf as any other beasts have in the past. She also proved a far better companion for the Green Elf, for he liked beast more than he liked Elves or other Free People. They changed her for a pair of Rohirim horses at some wayward farmer that lived alone with his daughter and their horses, the steeds were not the best, but they had to do. The man recognized him as being one of the firstborn when he looked him in the eyes and was in awe, Clill was to the farmer what he appeared: an old man in rags, hardly an Elf Lord of an ancient Order, as he truly was.

Two steeds proved useful and they covered the lands much faster. Despite his madness Clill could ride quite well and always kept up. Truly, he had a love for beasts and they for him.

At long last they arrived to Eriador and then to the Blue Mountains, they encountered almost no troubles on their way in the Western Lands, save for the marauding orcs in the fields of the realm of men that was called Bree. They were no match for the skills of an ancient Noldo warrior, but he preferred to be cautious and went through the woods after defeating them.

They rode through the gates of Falathron to the Sanctuary of the Laiquendi, where once Clill, the elf that was barely recognizable after imprisonment in Dol Goldur, was the the Lord of this place... As they approached the Sanctuary, Arvaryar saw, from afar, for he had the piercing eyes of the Noldor, an Elf with dark blond hair in simple green clothing, standing with two of his companions that could have only been Lord Taramthir, an ancient elf of that Sanctuary.
