Epilogue: A letter to the sworn

[OOC: This note is posted at the Sworn Wanderers kinhouse]

To my fellow wanderers, sworn by oath.

Nae saian luume'.

Before I state the reason to why I reach out to you today, I wish to express my gratitude towards each of you that I have met in the flesh, and my great regard for all of my fellow wanderers. While I have not had the pleasure of meeting that many of you in person, this kinship is and has been of great joy and purpose for me.

With this note, I wish to reluctantly announce that I shall no longer be able to fulfill all my duties as an oathsworn, at least not as a regional squad member. As some of you may know, I  hail from the Woodland realm, the forest once called Greenwood the great; now Mirkwood. Many years ago, before I was born, the great shadow fell over the forest, rendering it dark, inhospitable and full of evil creatures. This was the reason for my departure, and the reason I am here in Eriador today. I could not stand to see the forest in such a somber state. However, I have in my many years always wished to return. I have always eagerly been listening to news from Rhovanion, hoping that the shadow finally would have been lifted so the forest would thrive again. Alas, with the current sate of affairs, with talk of dark tidings all over, I now fear this will not happen in many years.

Therefore, I have decided that I shall regardless make the journey back to Rhovanion and the woodland realm to do my part in staving off the darkness that has fallen on the forest of my people. I know there is not much one elf can do, but I can not be idle anymore. My journey will start in Bree, since I at the moment is taking care of some business here, and I am not sure of when, if ever, I shall return. I will go through the Lone Lands to the Trollshaws, where I will probably stay a short while at master Elrond and Rivendell. From there I will make my way towards Eregion, and then finally Rhovanion. However, I am at this moment unsure of what path to go over - or under - the Misty Mountains and would be glad to receive advise from any of my fellow pathfinders. Is the Red Horn Pass a valid route these days?

If there is any doings I can help with on the way, be it official Sworn Wanderers business or any of your personal affairs, or if there is any tidings I shall send to anyone, I would be happy to be of assistance. I will pass many mailboxes on my way, but be sure that there will be many nights in the wilderness when your words cannot reach me.

And finally - if there is anyone who would wish to follow me on this trip, on all or any part of the way, you are all very welcome. While I love the road and the wilderness, it is a long and lonely path, and company if only for a part of my journey would be a great boon.

I will set out on this journey in a few days, I am sorry I post this with such short notice. My last day in Bree will be four nights from now. If any of you are in the area, I would be happy to offer wine and good company on that night!
