*Telfaras leans back, takes out the tattered journal and begins to scribble*
My brief trip to Amon Sûl was.. eventful. To say the least.
My intentions were to travel there by foot and hopefully meet another Elf of Mirkwood. Though he did not show up. So I set myself up, carefully concealed perhaps a few yards down the West side of the Weather Hills and kept watch for him. I must have waited a day or so.
*Gazes around, thinking.*
He still did not show... so I decided to climb up and take a look out from the ruins of Amon Sûl. Upon doing so, I glanced upon two 'people' on the road. Unsure of who, or should I say what, they were... I carefully clambered down to the position I had held for two days. It was nightfall and nothing could be heard, except for the heavy breathing of the now approaching pair I had seen moments before.
Curious... I gazed out and saw the back of them as they clumsily clambered up to the top, where they began talking in a scared, but harsh tone. I cautiously followed and saw that the pair were vile, Half-orcs. Although I was very anxious about what they had to say... so I began to listen.
They spoke of plans, or rather orders to attempt to raid the outpost of Ost-Guruth. It appeared that one of the two has been in The Lone-lands fo some time as he spoke of every way possible to get to the stronghold. Where as he other, seemed to perhaps be a messenger from others. I do not know..
After what seemed an age. They jumped over the East side of the ruins and down to the foot of the hill, slipping and crashing noisily on their descent. I followed.. Keeping my distance and they appeared to slip into some abandoned, and seemingly un-touched ruins.. If I am correct, Naerost. I needed a close look, so I advanced.
<The next passage appears to have been written some time later.>
The place is riddled with them. They infest it... Half-orcs are everywhere inside it. And they are heavily armed with crossbows and swords. I daren't get any closer, in case I am spotted so I backed off.
I shall now return to Bree, I will find Gwen and Halgilad and inform them of my discovery at Naerost. I shall then write to home, to tell them of the Half-Orcs and in hope I shall find out why my contact did not arrive. I can only hope he was delayed and will turn back.
<There is a small rugged arrow-head stuck to the page labelled - 'Half-Orc'>
*Shuts the book carelessly and slips it away.*
