The Beginning of the End - Chapter VI - The Rise of Xbeus & The Fall of Edhelion - T.A. 2400 to T.A. 2500

It remember arriving in Edhelion almost as clear as if it was just yesterday. The smell of ancient lore and texts was everywhere and the scrolls were almost falling off the tables. I began devouring them and would spend the next one hundred years devouting myself to the teachings of my new friend and lord, Talagan Silvertongue.

Talagan Silvertongue was an agile swordsman just as my friend Elrond was and this fact almost made me wish to take up the sword once more as I had traded it in for a staff many years ago. He also was a powerful mage as he was able to bend my will and it allowed me to learn some of his magics but they were still quite weak and pathetic compared to his. In fact they were weak in comparison to everyones and this almost made me an outcast but as always, Elrond and Talagan would stand up for me and told stories of my past bravery in the wars we had both fought in. My skills were growing but I dared not to use the last of my old power as it was the one thing I needed for the future as I was warned by the Blue Wizards. Yet it was also the reason I could no longer progress. I was stuck just learning about the history and I almost wished that I could see some action, until the day it came true.

It was T.A. 2500 and it was the fateful day that Skorgrim attacked our beautiful refuge of Edhelion. Many people died and I was there the day that my master, Talagan Silvertongue, brought down the walls of Edhelion and crushed himself as well as the Dourhands evil Lord, Skorgrim. He had saved us all but at the cost of his own life. Elrond and I stood there and watched in horror. I left with Elrond to stay with him and I never thought I would see Edhelion or its books ever again and my depression allowed me to forget all about my quest.

Until six hundred years later when Skorgrim returned after his body was recovered and the silly Dourhands managed to bring him back to life. I was sent to Edhelion to find out what was going on and Elrond also sent his two sons, Elladan and Elrohir to lead the investigation. It was while I was on this quest that I met the man that would change my life and end my search for good. He and his best friend would be a part of my life for such a time afterwards that it cannot quite be mentioned right now, for that is a whole new story in itself...
