The Life of Lothuial

First Age Years of the Sun

495 – Lothuial born in the fair city of Gondolin on a spring evening to her father Damdîr the Erfaron (hammer male the lone hunter) of the Thlim Galdon (House of the Tree) and her mother Uilosië the Camaen (ever-white the skilled hand) who were married in the year 283 of the same age.

510 – Gondolin is sacked while Lothuial is still a child. Her and her parents flee the city and travel south.

511 – Lothuial, her family and other refugees of Gondolin arrive at the Mouths of Sirion and settle there to live.

538 – The Third Kinslaying occurs, Lothuial and her parents were some of the few lucky people to escape in the ships of Círdan and Gil-galad to the Isle of Balar.

540 – Uilosië the Camaen makes a necklace of pearls for her beloved daughter which she has kept to the present day, gathered from some of the many pearls of the Isle of Balar.

590 – Lothuial and her family refuse the summons to Valinor.

Second Age

1 – Lothuial and her family move to Lindon, more specifically Forlindon with the foundation of the kingdom.

32 – Damdîr begins to teach Lothuial the ways of the world by taking her for lessons. The two would oft be found sitting together in unlikely places as they discussed many wonderful things.  

58 – Lothuial’s brother Dinalagos (silent storm) is born in a night of wild storm.

67 – Lothuial is taught how to ride and is gifted her first horse Rosroch (red horse).

117 – Dialagos joins Lothuial in her lessons.

124 – Lothuial is taken to be an apprentice of a jeweller and is taught in the arts of jewelling.

182 – Lothuial tires of jewelling and after much persuasion got her father to teach her the art of warmongering.

221 – Dialagos joins Lothuial in battle and hunting training.

224 – Lothuial and Dialagos join their father and become hunters in trade.

837 – Lothuial leaves Forlindon to travel to Harlindon simply to explore the world a little. She travels alone.

838 – Lothuial returns to Forlindon once more.

850 – Lothuial once more goes travelling, this time on a much longer exploration, delving into some of the depths of Eriador, travelling East from her current homeland until she finds her way to Eregion.

952 – Lothuial resides for some time in the Kingdom of Eregion.

967 – Luthuial is gifted with a sword which she names Laegrist (clean cleaver).

1672 – Lothuial leaves Eregion to resume her travelling, heading south into Enedwaith.

1693 – War between the elves and Sauron begins, Lothuial once more returns to her family in Forlindon.

1699 – Lindon falls under siege from Sauron, Lothuial is called up with her father and brother to help defend her home.

1700 – Sauron is defeated at Lindon, Lothuial continues to reside in Forlindon with her family.

1725 – Lothuial once again goes into the world to travel this time joined by Dialagos, the two hug the coast, heading directly south.

1789 – Lothuial and Dialagos return to Forlindon taking a loop up through the middle of Eriador and then heading west to Forlindon. They continue to make a living hunting.

2133 – Dialogos marries Nîdh (honeycomb) of Forlindon.

2197 – Nîdh and Dialogos have a son which they name Doron (oak) as he was born under an oak tree.

2378 – Lothuial once again travels off into the world, taking Doron with her to see some of the world, exploring the hills of Evendim together while the remainder of her family remains in Forlindon.

2385 – Luthuial returns Doron to Forlindon before resuming her travelling alone to the Misty Mountains.

2973 – Luthuial meets Mormeril the Talagan (black rose the harper). The two live together in the wilderness just north of Eregion for some time as Mormeril teaches Luthuial the harp and the two remain firm friends for life.

2978 – Luthuial takes the name Reniedis (wanderer) from Mormeril.

3002 – Luthuial and Mormeril travel together in the Misty Mountains.

3272 – Luthuial and Mormeril end up in Rivendell. They reside here for many years.

3407 – Luthuial travels back to Forlindon, Mormeril stays in Rivendell.

3441 – Luthuial’s family move to Mithlond with the collapse of the Noldorin kingdoms.

Third Age

76 – Luthuial once again goes off travelling, avoiding increasing numbers of men in the world, sticking to the Blue Mountains and the surrounding areas.

101 – Luthuial makes her way back to Rivendell where she makes her living playing music and hunting.

760 – Luthuial visits her home in Mithlond where she remains for a few years.

767 – Uilosië, Luthuial’s mother is injured in a hunting accident. The injury becomes infected and Uilosië becomes very close to dying, although in the end does survive. Luthuial is forced to care for her mother closely during this time.

770 – Luthuial travels back to Rivendell again.

1023 – Luthuial resumes her studies of jeweling after many long years, beginning to craft many fine works after her mother’s fashion.

1067 – Luthuial again abandons her jeweling to pursue a sudden interest in gardening.

1134 – Luthuial decides to travel once more and leaves Rivendell again to resume her wanderings in the wilderness, heading north and east to the Grey Mountains.

1137 – Luthuial takes the name Trevadis (traveller) which she gives to herself.

1258 – Mormeril joins Luthuial in her travelling again, the two staying around the Grey Mountains.

1378 – Mormeril and Luthuial return to Rivendell and Luthuial resumes her gardening hobbies again.

1752 – Mormeril and Luthuial start travelling again. Mormeril is killed when the two are attacked by goblins of the Misty Mountains. Luthuial is utterly devastated by grief and returns to Mithlond.

1753 – Following Mormeril’s death, Luthuial begins a programme of extreme weapons training and warrior training, utterly fortifying herself.

1757 – Uilosië the Camaen forges a spear for Luthuial which she names Egelebren (silver thorn).

1772 – Luthuial leaves Mithlond again and takes herself into the wild where she goes on a killing rampage against any goblins and orcs that she comes across in Eriador to try and vent some of her grief. She renames her sword Orchagar (orc blood).

1774 – Luthuial is injured in one of her foolish attacks. She is cared for by a man and his wife. When healed, she returns to Mithlond where she once more becomes a hunter by trade.

2314 – Luthuial travels in the wilderness of the Blue Mountains again for a few short years, taking the name Doldis (bride of the mountain) which she gives to herself.

2320 – Luthuial returns to Mithlond again where she takes the name Mercanis (fierce woman) from Damdîr her father.

2549 – Luthuial returns to Rivendell for the first time since Mormeril’s death. She hunts for a living, often straying off into the wilderness around Rivendell for long periods on end.

2780 – Luthuial visits her family in Mithlond, the rest of her family travel to the land of Valinor, Luthuial goes into the wilderness again.

2812 – Luthuial goes back to Rivendell where she does a mixture of gardening and hunting.

3007 – Luthuial goes back into the wilderness and has stayed there since, although it is rare that she has gone far from Rivendell, sticking to the Misty Mountains and the Trollshaws and has often visited Rivendell since.

3010 – Luthuial buys herself her current horse Sirdal (river foot) after having made her way through many over the ages.
