Gwenbur is sat in The Prancing Pony. Her diary is in front of her opened at a new page. She dips her quill and begins to write.
It is so close now! The day I become Telfaras' officially is looming. I am very nervous, yet so excited. I just hope the day goes well with no mishaps. I have told my battle brothers and sisters of my wedding, they are to attend. Hopefully my friends I have met in Bree will also turn up. I really ought to get writing invitations, it would be more reliable than word of mouth.
She stops writing. She takes a quick swig of mead and sets the mug down. Gwenbur dips her quill into the ink again.
My beloved has been speaking to a friend often as of late. This "Mithi", a fellow Elf, seems a good companion to him. I have met her once, here in the Pony. She seemed cold towards me at first, yet I did see a hint of a smile. These matters they speak of; Far told me of them. I became saddened when I heard they discussed my inevitable death, and my love forever mourning me. I do not want him to feel the pain. Oh how I wish I could live forever alongside him! He continues reassuring me that he has made the right decision and would rather spend whatever years I have left with me, than be alone. I love Telfaras deeply, more than anybody would know.
Gwenbur smiles. She takes a look up from her writing to notice a drunken man staggering about. The man falls over. She cannot help but chuckle slightly.
Bree shall be missed, no matter how bad some people think it is. I have done my best to help protect the people and their town from those blasted brigands. When Isilorbor inducted me into the Defenders, he implied I ought to concentrate more on the bigger threat - the shadow that threatens us all. He is right as usual. It is no use defending Bree when all could be lost if the darkness prevails. I shall have my full efforts dedicated to my kin and their cause. I must help fight, if any of us are to have peace. Bree-land shall be alright for the time being, there are people there dedicated to defending it. I have chosen a slightly different path and must stick to it. I have promised my captain and my new family.
She takes another swig of mead, finishing the drink. She sets the mug down and ponders for a short time.
Speaking of the Defenders, I managed to catch my good friend Ferabor here a few hours ago. He has been away on business for a long time. It was lovely to see him again. I told him of all my news, he is going to try and attend the wedding. I hope he does, for he is one of the first friends I made here in Eriador. Some few days previous I even met his father, Zelderan - also a Defender. The man did not look old enough to be the father of Ferabor. I was astounded! I also met the Defender's Grandmaster, a very pretty Eldar by the name of Irmiel. It is good to meet more of my battle brothers and sisters. I hope to meet more in due time.
She dots the last paragraph and scrawls the initials, "GBF" in a fancy manner.
