Amaurë speaks...
"Soon you must depart..." It was like a whisper in a dream caught in the net of my mind thus openly and freely coming onto me - the call of Imladris, my home, my refuge, my life. I could have boarded that white ship and cross the Great Sea , diminishing into the West, but my work in these lands is not yet done, I have a purpose , alas, I am not yet know what that purpose is.
The dreams of the Eldar are beginning to break up , in ripples they spread on the surface of the calm waters. Oh how I long to breathe your fair and fresh air again, Imladris, where time does not flow, unreckoned like the passing of a dream, as it does in the Undying Lands. I close my eyes and see the moonlit vale at night. The stars are reflecting in the water that floats gently like a mantle of starlight.
I am not sure I have the strength and patience to face the world 'outside' where strange folk roam. They call me many names but I seldom listen to their voices. There is dread and terror lurking ever closer from the east, moving into the spaces between our world and the world of men, reaching my mind even, Oh Imladris , let me stay in your timeless dream...I'll set forth soon.
