A Song of Enedwaith - Of Dragons, Hillmen and our Forefathers' Oath
High are the skies the meadows wide
Where once Kings' road bound tranquil northern light
With summers breeze on fairest shore and sea.
The wild woods home to men to beast to ancient tree.
A shadow runs along the creek
Our horses trudge away the dust
Stout hearts encumbered with fatigue
A bray bestowing mutual trust.
The time hath come to head the call
Fair king is riding into doom
With banners bright til our last men fall
We ‘ll tarry not if death shall waken ancient bloom.
An oath we swore whence ages past
Our ships crossed yonder from ye realms of old
Dear fathers just and honest hearts still last
Within these sons and daughters bold.
