The sudden disappearance of the Rohirrim bowman - 2

The air was cold that night, and Deor was laying near the edge of the river, awaiting his death. There was not much to do for him, for he endured some hard times in the hands of his own kin. They beat him halfway to death, and left him to be eaten by bears or wolves.

He was not moving and was barely breathing. Some of his ribs were crushed, and the grass near his laying half naked body was covered in his blood. Life was fading out for Deorgast.

The bears could sniff the scent of an easy prey nearby. That's when she arrived. Rendiss, the Dunedain ranger, had been trying to track Deor for days. She even heard some Eorlings asking about his whereabouts in the Pony. Before the bear could get to him, Rendiss pulled out an arrow and shot  an arrow straight to it's heart, dropping him to the ground like it was nothing. She had finally found Deorgast, but he didn't look that good. He was not moving at all.

Ren checked his pulse and cleaned some of his wounds, tending to them as best as she could, using some bandages to protect his broken ribs. Luckily, she had seen Fiontann and Nellye nearby, and with much effort the bunch took the broken man to the Dawnhall again, where he was treated and left to rest. Amazingly, he was still alive.

Deorgast consciousness returned for a brief moment as he was laying on the ground of the Dawnhall. Pain took over him, so he could only open his left eye to see the fireplace he knew so well, before falling asleep again.

"At last, home..."
