Hunted

When she spotted the small gathering, just a dash of fifty or so paces from the inn that which she had just exited, she knew something was off. Zurich had halted first, spying one of her own—but steps further, and she found a familiar face warning her to halt.

There, gathered in a large circle: Three members of the Bree Town Watch, only one of which she recognized from her only arrest; Hawkril, who was the one to warn her to a stop; and a few other faces she would not recognize, but who each turned an unkind eye when the description of who they were hunting was given.

And it was the description that sent her stomach twisting: a dark-clothed woman, in a mask and hood. She'd assume they were speaking of Harlyn, but each of their outfits were nearly identical. They approached her, as one could easily suspect that they would, but there was no hassle—all it took to convince them that she was not a member of Indignation was a simple 'no'. Even still, she fled quickly after, taking some hours to herself to travel to Northern Bree and acquiring a horse.

Disguises quickly came into tune, as did the fixing of new identities; there was no plan to take physical action against the Watchmen, and it would merely be a matter of waiting it out. But there was the dropping sense that everything was a bit more than a few Watchmen and their extra-eyes.

Not soon after would come the sighting of Maximus, who she'd later attempt to follow, but nearly immediately lose track of. And that would have been for the best, she was sure, knowing what he had done, and seeing the witch of a woman that was by his side. With each passing hour, the feeling of being slowly trapped in by enemies would press onto Zurich more and more, like a warning that she should flee while she still could—but she would not abandon her screwed life in this face of danger.

Nearly two days, she spent either around Bree-town in disguise and letting her identity be known to those that would agree to protect her name and the rest of Indignation, or in the presumed safety of the roof-tops, where she could meet with others and keep watch on who was milling about.

It wasn't until, in the quickly-approaching dawn of day, that she'd be intercepted while in uniform by some strange lass who wanted to teach her how to dance. If it were not for that delay, she may have been able to flee to her intended hideout before the dark woman upon a horse stepped into the situation, not catching her attention until Zurich wold realize her malicious-hooded gaze was onto her. It was the approach of Gold that would seemingly allow her an escape, to which she would not completely abandon him to the dangerous lass.

Enemies, everywhere; it nearly felt that half of Bree had an eye turned for the group of renown vigilantes, renown criminals. She had heard rumor of it being Gerwolf himself that had hounds of men in search, and whether it would be true or not that he was such the man...It was only certain that they were definitely being hunted.
