PoBL -- Prologue

Every great leader deserves a written history of their accomplishments and doings—recording their history as it happens, rather than skewed perceptive once the time has passed. History happens every day, and it must be up to someone to take it to hand and take account of what may be forming your life, your future, and the tales that are passed down.

By the pages of this book, the inside happenings of the noble Lords and Ladies shall be taken unto view, and I shall present things as they show themselves to me. Nothing shall be overtaken by my personal opinion, unless the opinion I desire to expand to my readers is such a vital thing to present; or, perhaps, if my opinion is merely asked for.

Three main Houses in particular have caught my attention: House Gadreel, House Thaladuin, and House Estellin. My delvings into the world of politics shall begin with these three reigning names over the noble families of the Bree-Lands. As they present themselves, I shall partake in studies of lesser noble Houses, for a time that will depend on a relevance to the pressing matters; as such for Houses passing through, or even migrating into the lands.

So to complete my research, which will be a long-term, consuming project, I will be placing myself within the ranks of one of the three very houses! Whispers and rumors fly about all of the time, and it is about time that a commoner as myself(though, perhaps more educated than most of those residing within Bree) and take important note of what exactly the Houses are up to; and as such is my duty, to publish it for all to see!

Everything that I can record(granted, so long as my ears aren't caught listening into the wrong conversation, ensuing unkindly results) shall be recorded and published chapter-by-chapter. The people(and hobbits) of Bree very well deserve to know what is going on right under their noses! Bree isn't a place quite so accustomed to the nature of nobles, or so it seems—whatever the happening stir may be, I shall get to the very bottom of it!
