Rambles of the Mind - p.2

The writing is sloppy, and gets moreso at the end of the page. Spelling and grammar is horrid, but the point is easily gotten across as to what she writes.

Dear self,

I spoke too soon. An unknown face without a name has taken to...Hunting me? But she needn't find me to hunt me, as it seems she's always...Watching me. Twice, now, she's made to attack me. Each time has been so fast that I've been unable to react. She's left me with a number of things: A broken nose, ugly bruises up and down my face, a fractured rib, and even attempted to set me on fire. But she's left even weirder...

Notes. Painted on whatever lay near me, with my own blood. 'Suffering'. 'I am watching always'. And on a slip of paper found upon my waking...'The sadist strikes again'.

I don't know who she is or what she wants, but there is a sinking feeling that it is not even over the previous war with the nobles. I am like a mouse, and she is a cat—playing with me before laying down the final strike. It's been many days since I have been last attacked, only because I am keeping to my instructions of not staying alone.

I've been talking to Rothlung more and more, and from what I understand, it's considered taboo to his people of the Bloody Dawn to befriend those of Indignation. I don't want to get him in trouble, but nor do I wish to break contact...I've wronged his family so much, and yet he still treats me so kindly. He's even offered for me to train with Sarriya, though we'd be unable to do it at the Dawn Hall, in worry of what the others would think.

And speaking of Sarriya...I feel bad for yelling at her the way I did. But I meant every word of it. I was weak before Harlyn, and every change she's brought me is for the better. I'd be long dead without her, I'd be without my own will, and stand for nothing—I have a purpose now. I'd do anything for that purpose, no matter how wrong it may seem in the moment, because it is all for the better good. Even kidnapping her when we had...It was all for the better good! Her, Catilyn, Aellwenn, Warrence, Addiel...Everything that happened to them! As horrible as it seems, it was all for GOOD!

Signed,

Zurich
