A Tale of Love, War, and Pet Bears

Zurich sat against the hidden dip between roofs that overlooked the Prancing Pony Inn; where, if she strained her neck, she could see into the courtyard, monitoring most of those who left and entered by the way the South Gate. A deep tired settled over her limbs, her mind threatening to drift into sleep then and there. What a few days it had been, what a few days it had been...

It started, first, with much friendly mingling with the Dawn. She finally made acquaintance with the leader of them all, which went so friendly until the man would be told who exactly she was—from there, it was a battle of temperament for Zurich, struggling to uphold the good impression that which he praised from her. In the end, she supposed she had kept it, as he seemed as an honest man that would have expressed his distaste for her as he did Zurich's leader. Not nearly an ideal meeting, though...Well enough, for the spectrum did not lean towards enemy nor rivalry.

Her next meeting placed to matters nearly a week before. Rothlung...An unexpected friendship that quickly turned sour. He had every reason to worry the way he did, Zurich knew, but he demanded a show of loyalty that Zurich could not supply. As she once reminded him, she would abandon his side to bid by Harlyn's words in an instant; and then it was so. The last she had seen of Roth, before fleeing for multiple days...She left with the cruel words of threatening to first kill him, should he act upon his threats to Harly, and then that she hadn't the time for someone like him and that he should rather make it easier for all and just kill himself.

Upon encountering him again(and noting that what Gerfor had told her of his sickness was quite evident), arguing ensued. So bitterly, with good reason, he finally agreed to leave Zurich be in her affairs with Indignation. If she would be so happy dying or being hurt underneath Harlyn's command...He would no longer counter the possibilities.

This led to many merry sits, with few ill words, and all was looking up. Even her encounter with Sigfread, whom she confessed the horrible deed she had done and yet felt little remorse for, could not dampen the growing feeling that things were looking up.

Until...Of course, there would have to be an until...The bounty woman showed up, Zurich walking upon the scene right as it would twist downwards(if there had ever been an upwards). Nearly everyone in the group could account for times they had been downright criminal—thus, as their goals for Bree shifted, they realized even the seemingly worst criminal could be seen in light of redemption to some degree. This belief urged Indignation to hunt the bounty...For means of keeping her from whatever punishment was in store for her.

All they had to do was get to her first...Which didn't quite well work, when the Dawn snatched her out right under their noses. Indignation had no desire to draw blades, outnumbered by so many and lacking any desire to wage war over something as this, which led to one thing: A wild horse chase. They would be delayed, but eventually arrive to the Dawn Hall, demanding an audience with Tylan; the man who had placed the bounty.

Their demands were denied by Roth, though...The pleasant surprise of the day would be that Tylan arrived after their four-horse march had placed about the property of the Hall. Harlyn eventually entered the building with him, and after a heart-wrenching wait...She'd exit, the bounty women in tow. Somehow, the hot-headed woman had convinced them to hand her over for reform. Somehow, somehow, somehow...Whatever else damn way but putting her own life on line? Now—There'd be no other choice but force the woman to change...Or not one would die, but them both.

Nearly immediately after this event, Harlyn summoned Zurich and Firam for yet another meeting. This one...Took an odd twist. A man wished to war against the Dawn, urging Indignation to join the fighting forces by appealing to the fact of the Dawn placing themselves above the law by engaging in the kidnapping of the woman for the bounty. Harlyn would deny, ends come to ends, scoffing that the Dawn was much more powerful than they. The meeting ended there, a quick decline.

Mere hours later, Firam would face punishment, for the discovery of his disobeying orders and speaking to Aellwenn. His punishment would be a finger.

And, now...Now there was a lull, and though it seemed as if everything hand died down back to peace...There would still hold the matters of reforming the Bear Lady. The task seemed simple enough, but a woman who had done so much damage as to be worth 10 gold, mauling people with a damned bloody bear...Could she truly be reformed? If she would slip up, her initial punishment of death would no longer be dormant...And would now include Harlyn as well.
