Keeping a promise, part 5

My dearest cousin, again you sweep aside my most wise counseling.
If you had done as I said, you’d still be thane of Folcburg.
But you were too weak willed for this business in the end.
Now here I am.. securing the hold for another of my choice. Leyda’s claim shall not hold, no I see another holding sway over Folcburg.

Already have I deposed of Wadu, cousin of the late thane. I had hope that Wulfreda would make the only proper decision and have him … disposed. But she had chosen to remain merciful.

But no matter.. In the end no one does the job as thoroughly as I.
And I shall not have loose ends remaining untied.
Disguised as men of Emdar, Feod and Harred managed to plunk a dagger into the neck of Wadu.
And as such…Wadu perished as I had initially already intended.

Now I ride for Aldburg, the thane there being a dear friend of mine.
I shall plead for him to take over the rulership of Folcburg so that I may create a more united front of allies in the Eastfold.

I must not forget to deal with this, Leyda.. I think she may have some claws yet, and she won’t give up her seat so easily. Luckily the trial of Halva is soon to be held, and now.. Leyda is the one responsible for the little thief’s behavior. The verdict has already been agreed up on by the Reeve of the Eastfold, the boy shall be executed for treason.. I hope Leyda won’t mind swinging that sword.
