It is believed that the people are born without evil, but many will be taught or teach themselves the way of sins and evil. As misconceptions of the gods can lead to sins and extravagance. These misconceptions are due to the frailty and weakness of the people of Middle Earth, however, the elves were created to be the guardians of the twelve gods and their secrets, secrets all too well hidden as the twelve have passed mostly into obscurity and oblivion. Though the gods do not punish such, as it was their own free will to forget, but the gods decided to clean all memory of their existence from the elves for this reason, instead looking to the younger races.
The Elves were created in Aelor's image, the dwarves in Baenor's, the hobbits in Nayroceth's and men were created with a fraction of all, these creations, however, differed to eachother and eventually the different people would start to become different to each other. Hence the Elves of Mirkwood are more in tune with the goddess Tivreus than the Elves of Rivendell are. However, being the guardians of old have left them with a tendency to arrogance and pride in their former status.
The Dwarves have always been a lowly folk, and their natural sins include greed and aggression, fitting with the images in which they were created. Being born from Tuvnos and Baenor's image, they have shown skill for both war and crafts, and of course with this follow the natural sins of both.
Men is created from a mixture of all the gods to what was hoped to be as perfect a being as the elves, though with limitations, making them strive to become more. However, with all the blessings comes all the sins, and the weakness of man has been shown plenty of times over, leading them to many sins and much corruption through the ages.
Lastly the Hobbits were created without a lust for war and greed, they are small folk and naturally born content to live in their small holes in the ground. However, being born from Nayroceth has let the hobbit have a tendency to fall to hedonism and gluttony, though these sins are considered minor in the eyes of the gods, as sins that are more self-harming than harming of others are thought more lightly.
