Halbarad has finaly told me today what the plan is.
As I write this I have already reached the encampment near Barad Gularan is east Angmar.
I am waiting. Waiting for two other rangers to join me in this mission. Golodir has picked them himself so I believe they should be up for such a dangerous mission.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Mission:
Retrieve the ranger Lavindir from the stronghold of Barad Gularan.
The ranger has been taken captive a couple of weeks ago, just before I left Bree.
Feared is that they want to turn him into an agent of Angmar, one that can infiltrate the rangers with ease and take us out from the inside. We are to find him, judge his behavior and on that either kill him, or save him.
We have had clear instructions about how to enter the stronghold unseen. And I am sure we will manage to do so.
I just hope nobody of our kin has to die this day.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This might be my final entery.
The rangers Durvain and Ithlandir have arrived at the camp. We have discussed our plan of attack and trained a final time to make sure we are ready.
They are very skilled rangers indeed. It seems we each have our own specific skill.
Mine is archery.
Then there is Durvain. A man who originally hails from Everdim. His skills with a knife, his stealth and his knowladge of locks will be our way inside. I have yet to see anyone be a better lockpicker then this good ladd!
And not to forget Ithlandir, a man who's tactical vision, knowledge of the area and skill with sword and shield will be our way out if things go bad. He hails from here, an has spend most his life up at Gath Forthnír. Yet I do hope we have not too much need for him. I rather get in quickly and get out without being noticed.
We are departing within the hour. The darkness of night, combined with that of Angmar itself, will be our cover.
I have never been to Barad Gularan before, I hope Ithlandir and Durvain will provide me with enough knowledge to survive the mission.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I tell you this.... If things go bad. Ithlandir will not be the one who stays behind.
I am the oldest, and the leader over this mission. I will stay if they need to escape. So is it, and so it will stay.
