Investigation Report: Assassins in Bree

The presence of assassins in Bree has been increasing as of late, or so the rumors and suspicions tell. Though this is usually just talk amongst the gossipers, a witness brought evidence to us that a woman was speaking of an assassination plot with another in the kitchen of the Prancing Pony not long ago. I find it odd, that this happened the same time both she and another man quite obviously was attempting to get me to have a drink. It was very obvious in fact, I suspect they planned to lace it with poison. 

The man whom attempted to get me a drink started out simple and normal enough, the usual remarks from men looking to sheath their sword, beautiful, attempting to get me to go on a walk with him. But then he mentioned a wanted 'criminal' by the name of john who took his whole family. There are plenty of criminals named John, but there are no records of a mass murderer with that name on any accounts.

There was also this really large presence of folk who seemed to be trying really hard to blend in, it was rather obvious in fact. This man is now known to me by the name of 'ash' and I have the faces of every individual in the tavern at the time sketched out. He and two unnamed and unknown women assaulted  Rhyva in Combe, so now I've put out a few posters with the man's face up throughout Bree. I'll be arresting him on sight.

I have arrested the bar-maid who was is my only available suspect for the time being, she's given no useful information but her little act isn't fooling me. I've been in the Watch long enough to spot someone suspicious.
