CASE STATUS: Solved.
A woman by the name of Mayrin rushed into the commons of the prancing pony whilst I was preparing to leave, and was wounded. Stabbed in the hip as it were, without thinking, I rushed to treat the wound. She said she had been assaulted by a man in orange in the back rooms, thus I sent Constable Aegrandor & Recruit Rohain off to apprehend the suspect whilst I treated the woman's wounds. I cauterized the wound with a heated blade, then escorted her to the jail where I gathered her story.
Apparently the man had tried to rob her, and then stabbed her. I arrived to find the criminal already in irons as suspected, placing Mayrin to the beds in the barracks I treated her with one of Medic Praesule's Phials to subside the pain whilst I processed the arrest. Constable Aegrandor Informed me of The mans name, and his side of the story. Known as Cyfien.
According to the criminal, Mayrin is the one whom attempted to rob him, demanding his coin purse and when he refused, attempted to stab him. In which he turned the blade on her, and inflicted the wound. Claiming self defense, but the problem stands that there is no evidence to support this claim, only the wound on Mayrin which leans in the favor of Mayrin's story. The suspect spoke of a witness donned in a red dress, with long dark hair flowing to her shoulders. This sounds like Scarlet, from the previous case in which she was assaulted. If she can confirm this, then I can clear Cyfien.

Investigation Report: Smoke & Mirrors: Update 1
I found the former witness to the Foul Words case, she knows or at least saw the witness I need in the Smoke & mirrors Investigation, yet she has no information or whereabouts to offer. So we're at yet another dead end until we locate the witness, which will likely be by chance.

I have met with Fiontann of The Bloody Dawn and confirmed that the suspect Cyfien is a part of their company. I have informed him of the situation, and that we cannot clear him, or convict him as a suspect until we get the witnesses statement.

Investigation Report: Smoke & Mirrors: Update 3
Cyfien has been released from prison and cleared as a suspect. Mayrin has confessed to attempting to rob him, and Cyfien's claims of self defense has passed.
However Mayrin has given a break through in another case, the Man Without Morals case. She knows the victim and has given us a location to find her, a detachment of Watchers went out not long ago to fetch her.
Mayrin's brother showed up at the jail, or at least he claimed to be her brother. I get a bad feeling about that bloke. Has a snakes tongue.
