The Sarrell Inheritance Armour

Damric Sarrell was not a chivalrous man.

But is chivalry truly a key trait for a knight? It fails to assist in combat; nay, showing chivalry in combat would be a fatal mistake.  It would never be wise to allow your enemy to have the first move.

No.

War is blunt, bloody and brutal.

And THESE are traits a warrior should have.

Tis a good thing these were traits Damric Sarrell had, and demonstrated frequently.

And so started a new era of the Sarrell house.  Damric had little time for Etiquette, preferring to spend more of his time honoring his vow to Bree-land.

And it was because of this he deemed himself unworthy to wear the Sarrell Inheritance Armour, instead keeping it safe in a vault in Ost Barandor.

For a time.

Because the Sarrell Inheritance Armour was supposed to evolve with each user, changing to suit their needs as they added and removed pieces of it, every new piece being smithed by an Elf of the Sarrell line.

That was another issue with the armour.

What would happen when the Elven Sarrell line ended?  When there was no more Sarrell Elves to smith the armour?

Would it sit in a vault, ever-same?

It took a long time for Damric to realise this; that as the armour evolved with each new user, the rules of the armour evolved with each new user.

And so Damric learned the art of Elven Smithing.

And so Damric changed the Sarrell Inheritance armour, changed it from the form that demanded a more noble fighting style to a more brutal, effective style.  He took away much of the heavy plates, allowing himself to move faster, attack quicker.  He removed the helmet that offered little defence, adding a helmet with higher facial coverage, with a single slit across the visor at eye level and a curved blade running from the centre of the brow to the base of his skull.

All the more useful for close up fighting.

Dirty fighting.

And he changed the colour.

Damlan had dyed the cloth golden, and painted the metal likewise.

Damric made the entire suit of armour white and Bronze to blind his enemies while fighting in daylight.

And when it was complete, he donned the armour and strolled out into the glaring sunlight, which made his armour glow with a supernatural light.

And people shielded their eyes, bending low when he passed.

Damric smirked.  it was bowing, of a sort.
