Though it was the view of many that I had arrived late to our venture when I finally caught up to the company at the Last Bridge I would dare to say that I arrived just on time. No sooner had we crossed the bridge and entered the Trollshaws than a party of orcs ambushed us and began an assault, though their numbers were greater than our own we felled many of them and received few injuries of our own. It was curious though, when they broke off in retreat they tried to run passed us and into the Lone-Lands. I can only hope that the Eglain or the Watchers can prevent them from reaching Bree.
We continued a short way down the road before night fell upon us and we set camp until dawn. I suggested no fire as it was a warm night and we could not be sure if more orcs were in the area, or worse. Due to my late arrival I was given first watch, it passed by peacefully with only the arrival of Deorgast and Vendrith leaving to hunt disturbing me. Deorgast took second watch which allowed me some sleep. Though I found no respite in slumber, dreams of hard nights in the wilds prior to my joining The Bloody Dawn haunted me. I awoke to cooked boar meat and the sun rising over the hills to the east, the hills where we ride today.
