The night after I joined the Roses there was a meeting... In the Inn just outside of Bree. I got introduced to the Guild.. I said my name, and told everyone I was a gardener. Which after I said that Hawk corrected and said Thief. I turned red, I really wanted to turn and ask why he had to announce it! I do not like people knowing... It only leads to trouble when word gets out, but I didn't He had just gotten me out of a bad situation ... with another Gardener. Though I was introduced to everyone.... no one was introduced to me.... I guess I am just suppose to know they are on my side? I think ? What happened later really made me nervous but... I tried to keep a poker face.. it was difficult. I caught some names from them discussing among themselves.
There were a lot of faces at the meeting, most wore hoods, some wore masks or a combination of the two. I didn't get a good look on some of the people... some of the people I did recognize from my curiosity from when I would follow them. Like the man, and the odd lady... who talks funny. I didn't catch her name... however I found out the man is called Artie. He... gives off a scary vibe... not to sure If I trust him. He watched my first Dancing lesson, with my mentor. Which went terribly, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
A man walked into the inn a bit later, after they started to discuss other matters. He asked if he should leave.. they told him no.. He proceeded to get some ale from the barkeep. Then Hawk gave an order I didn't quite hear what exactly it was... he said some names... Then the Hunter, Ashnell, shot him !! I was so confused and so terrified!! Why couldn't they have just told the man to leave? They proceeded to drag him up stairs... Myself the odd lady, and who I now know as Desta, were left downstairs. I figured we should watch the door... We weren't given any instructions... but I mean... it seemed pretty obvious that we wouldn't want anyone to go upstairs. Later that day, my tools got stolen from another gardener... so I searched in my bags and armed myself with what I had... which was an egg... Desta handed me one of her daggers and I thanked her.
After a long while people came down stairs... They said they had stabilized the man, but it was odd.. why shoot him .. if you were going to stabilize him in the first place. I didn't question it. My assigned mentor returned and wanted to start the first dancing lesson, so I complied. I learned alot, but I was awful.. I was so nervous I never really fought a man let alone hold my swords or daggers properly even.
I'm thinking twice about my joining... but I'm more afraid of leaving... what if they decide I know to much? After the meeting I mailed my Farmer friend Dudon to meet me at our rondevu outside of our current harvesting place. I had to warn him, that things are getting dangerous around me.
