Invasion of Annúminas

Vinti shook his friends hand smiling in good parting, and began walking towards the doors of Tham Laegamon. The bonfire illuminated the chalk-white stone walls with a warm and deep red glow as it crackled comfortably. The dry ash wood sent little embers rising with the smoke up into the air. Evedim had set its sun, and the purple hour was beginning. Tham Laegamons spare commodations had always been one for Vinti to favour, on the account of the view alone. As he reached the entrance, he leaned on the corroded door and sniffed in some air. The spring was still cold, and his sinuses had not yet shaken the frost entirely from the winter. He spared a second to look over his shoulder before heading inside. Though warmer, Tham Laegamons interior was inevitably like most others found in Evendim these days. Damp, dark, and not very well kept quarters was not Vinti's preferred restingplace. He looked out over the grand view the highground up there holds, and disappeared into the keep. Long hours passed, the purple glow over Evendim had given way for the darkness of night. Annuminas, and so all of Evendim's named places was now lit p by moon and starlight, the white stones reflecting their light well to any man's eye. The entirely still silence, broken by no man or beast, was interrupted suddenly as the sound of a stone plate breaking into slabs like porcelain ringed out of Tham Laegamon, And the following ruckuss of items and heritage cutlery and trinkets being thrown around recklessly. Out of the dark interior, a young man came sprinting as if he was set alight in oil, followed a second later by Vinti, clearly woken unwillingly and untimely, not even dressed beyond his trousers, boots and undershirt! The young man, with the giveaway feats of a fortunesearching tomb-robber was clearly caught by suprise aswell, not expecting any encounter in his nightly search. Vinti chased in long-leaping agile steps, not burdened by vest or weapon he moved considerably faster than he usually could, catching up with his foe quickly. They reached the bottom of the steps down to Tham Laegamons westernmost tower, overlooking the lake and city in a spectacular man-made plateu. His roaring broad voice disturbed all life around the lake,as the still night air bore the sound of his charge enough to repeatedly echo back to him. He had caught the fleeing robber with a tackle, driving the man into the hard gravel paving the plateu with all his weight and strength. He quickly grabbed hold of the fleeing man's clothes and ripped him over on his back, in a fierce and violent demonstration of pure anger he screamed at the man held under him, without discount to the man's young appearance. "THESE TOMBS ARE MINE!" he screamed, a blend between wolfish snarling and anger of a man, all vision around him had faded black into a tunnelsight for him. He delivered his first blow to the man's face, then a second, slamming with all his weight so hard the cacking of the head into the stone surface could be heard horribly clear. Vinti grabbed a rock the size of his fist and gave a forceful blow to the mans head with each word as they burnt through the night sky. "THIS!!-...IS MY!...-EVENDIM!!" The last blow to the mans head had cracked through skin and skull, leaving the blood running out to pool on the white stone, looking all black in the starlight. Vinti discarded the stained rock and took a second to catch his breath, stilling his anger as he witnessed the last breath of the man under him with a look of distaste. He heard voices far away, down from the road north of his view, running from Kings Crossing and down to the eastern entry to Annuminas. He glanced, and focused fast, giving all his attention and stilling the frosted breath. His eyes opened wide in a blend of suprise, disbelief, and fear. Long out in the distance, far north he could see a great number of lights on the road. Torches! As he got to his feet, his eyes shifted to each of the sides to the approaching numbers. Sentries were already crying warnings and giving alerts, some had even begun letting arrows lit with fire fly directly into the mass of the approaching numbers, seeming more and more to be the numbers of an army....
