Act II Chapter I

The presence of a nice warm meal given to Lucifen by what seemed like a maiden was one he was not familiar with. The closest thing he had experienced that was similar to this would be the Pony, and it was not even close to parring with this. The meal wasn't fancy, not something a king would be served, but it was hot and different to what he usually had. His ignorant knowledge of middle-earth would only contain Bree and it's surrounding lands, unaware of the placement and information of Gondor.

It was this kind of hospitality that made Lucifen forget the pain in his body. The maiden insisted to feed Luc, an offer he has never gotten before. He simply smiled and nodded, allowing her to spoon-feed him the hot stew. Lucifen was sure he could feed himself, his injuries not paralyzing him from basic actions, but yet again, it was an offer he couldn't refuse.

As she wiped his lips with a cloth, the maid would take the plate and leave the room, leaving Luc to himself. His solitude would be short lived as the man from before entered. His face was one that seemed heavy, one that carried more than he showed. His black hair would be short and neatly running back to back of his head. He entered wearing comfortable clothing, with no armor on it. Grabbing a nearby chair, he sit's close to Lucifen.

"I've heard an interesting story about you, Luc." He says with a voice that some might describe as strict. He gave Lucifen no time to reply as he continued. "You hail from Bree, and yet you come to Ithilien. I'm sure your captives didn't come all the way there just to drag you across the lands." he says as he adjusts himself in his seat. "Mind filling in the holes for me?"

"I... I'm not sure where to start." Lucifen spoke honestly.

"Then let's keep it simple, why come to Ithilien, or even Gondor."

Luc would keep himself laying there, the back of his head touching the pillow as he stared into the ceiling. "It wasn't intended, things just sort of... happened." he says, trying to dodge the question he himself could not answer it in full. The man just nodded to himself, possibly judging Luc and his words.

"In that case, I would like to learn more about you Luc." the man would say just as Luc smirks. "And I you." he would reply. Giving it some thought, the man allowed silence to take its toll before nodding. "Very well."

It was from there that the two began to learn about each other. Pieces of their lives would be spoken of, their occupations mostly. The man's name, as Luc learned, was Alekith. A name that rang no bells in his head. As Luc told the man of his stories of being a sellsword in the company known as The Bloody Dawn, Alekith shed light to his occupation.

"I was hired here a while back with my brothers. You might not know of Gondor very well, but the province we're in, Ithilien, is not the best to live in." he says before giving details as to why it isn't.

"And so, my brothers and I are hired to keep these lands safe." He would say before frowning slightly. "Hm, you spoke of your time as a sellsword, perhaps there is use in you after all..."

Lucifen would then curl a brow, "Oh? Thinking about hiring me?" he speaks with curiosity.

Alekith would shake his head slightly, "If times were different, I would not trust a stranger with this job. But as of late, things have changed. I can not trust you with such a position, yet I see myself having to ask the question."

Lucifen would only chuckle softly, trying to not move his chest too much. "Well, I'm not much use right this minute." he says before going deep in thought. He is already long gone from home, The Bloody Dawn is too far for him to consider himself a member.

"If you work for me, I can guarantee a roof over your head here and warm meals."

Lucifen chuckles again. "Are things really that bad that you must ask a stranger in bed to serve?" he would say with a playful tone at first before witnessing Alekith's frown and silence.

Alekith broke his silence with a question "Can you get up?"

Surprised by the question, Lucifen moved a few muscles before nodding. "Aye."

"In that case... I'll show you."
