I entered through the wooden gates that led into the small town of Archet. The guards eyed me with suspicion but let me through and I passed through the training area. I was a stranger and most of the people, who were milling around, seemed nervous and a bit jumpy. I met a man, who introduced himself as Strider but he was too concerned about the man that was lying at his feet. Strider mentioned his name as Amdir, who was clearly suffering with some unknown illness. Another man by the name of Brackenbrook called me over. I walked up to him and immediately noticed his nervous twitch, he told me that rumours had infected the people and moral was low but this could be clearly seen. I walked around to ask some locals about the latest happenings but couldn't really get answers and it seemed the people were reluctant to talk. I asked the merchants if their business was brisk but again my questions was met with suspicion. I was beginning to have enough of this town. I purchased some supplies with the last coin in my pocket and my intention was to leave that miserable place when Strider called me over again. He asked my name and I told him Felanam, son of Felamir of Gondor and blatantly asked if I could seek out some rare plant that could only be found among some ruins northeast of town, adding that I should act with caution because the ruins had been overrun by packs of fierce wolves. I had no money and he replied that I would receive coin and other supplies from him as payment for my time and effort. The weed had medicinal qualities and it was hoped it would save Amdir, who was groaning and obviously in discomfort. I agreed and left my pack and only took my Bow and two short swords. Strider gave me some directions and I headed for the gate. Brackenbrook called me over again and handed me a letter to give to a man named Calder Cobb and as it was on my way I took the letter along with some coin for my time. I had no idea what I was letting myself in for. Within minutes of leaving the gates behind me I encountered the Wolves, they were many and I dispatched many but more came and by the time I found Calder Cobb I was sweating profusely. He paid me in coin and I handed him the letter, I found him rude and quite obnoxious but when it came to men, nothing hardly surprised me anymore. I continued on my way across the field, hunting down the Wolves and wild Boars that seemed to plague the area but they was no match for my sword. I soon found the weed fitting the description that the man Strider spoke of, I pulled and tugged them from the ground and put them in my herb bag around my waist Calder Cobb had told me to deal the Wolf Master, he was to be found at the highest point among the ruins. I climbed the steps and he ran towards me with sword raised and I had no time to notch an arrow,. He moved with such speed that the end of his blade missed my exposed face by a whisker. I rolled along the paved stones and quickly thrust my sword into his mid drift but he skillfully parried it. I hardly had time to catch my breath before he was upon me once again. He managed to smash the hilt of his sword into my face causing blood to rush from my nose, I was dazed and he saw his chance, he realized he had me weakened. I rolled again but this time I was lucky as the upper thrust caught him full in the stomach, as my sword sank into his flesh, he gasped and blood flowed from his wound covering my leather tunic and arms. I pulled my sword out of him and heard the pain coming from his blood soaked mouth, more blood came and he slumped into the increasing crimson puddle that ebbed his life force from his body and trickled down the stone steps. I had killed the Wolf Master. I sat upon that high platform panting with breathlessness.
