A day in the Barrow Downs
Today i made the trip to the Barrow Downs, its a nightmarish place, it reeks of rot and decay. The dead walk everywhere among the filth and bodies of creatures. The rats eat at the fallen creatures, the barghasts were the only living thing to comfort me, they were the only normal thing there. I slew many a wight and many a barghast until i came far back in the downs and found a small refuge of forest which i thought was normal, until i ventured within it and was attacked by a tree! It uprooted itself and came charging at me! I manage to hack and slash it to supposed defeat, at which time i hew a large branch off for a memory of this vile adventure. I then left swiftly and avoided all creatures until i was out, still carrying the branch, which i now know, is maple. I made my way to Bree where i settled under a tree, a NORMAL tree, not a walking one, then i begun carving the maple into a staff, the maple carved relatively easily and my plan was to carve a dragon headed staff. I spent a few hours on it until i created a wonderful, chin height staff. I sealed it with birch resin and set it for a few hours. While it was drying, I drew a drawing of the staff and put it above, to remember my trip.
