Rebirth

Bloodlines

Act II Chapter III

After agreeing to enlist himself in Mercenary work for people he hardly know, Lucifen was met with acceptance and well care from delivering his promise to help. He spent the next few days resting in the guest room as his body is still recovering. A new face would find itself reappearing each day as he rested.

The face would belong to a house servant known as Lida. An odd lass who seemed like a jumble of personalities. One second she would be quiet like a mouse, the next she would be pestering Lucifen as she made sure he was tucked in and not in a fever.

The servant was nice to Lucifen and always had a smile on her face, her company was valued to Lucifen as she brought him food and a set of bed wear for him to change into. Lid was reluctant to leave Lucifen his privacy as she insisted to help him change his clothing, something Lucifen was introverted about. While doing so, Lida's eyes would happen upon Lucifen's chest as an infected sword wound would still lay in it's center, rotting the are around it and appearing unhealthy.

After a minute of reassuring that his health was fine and is being taken care of, Lucifen finally convinced Lida that he will not be needing attention to his wound. As an itch brewed itself on the scar, Lucifen held the temptation only until after Lida would leave him for the night, not wanting to peak her concern in any way.

Throughout all the people that Lucifen has met, Lida seemed diffirent. She always insisted in helping Lucifen, even if the task seemed simple. No matter how much Luc would argue, Lida would always spoon feed him the stew or break the bread with her own hands.

After a few days of the same cycle of waking up, breakfast brought by Lida, and so on, Lucifen had his condition brought up well enough for him to no longer require to be in bed for the entire day. As he managed to get out of bed himself, Lida would grin largely and offer a hug of encourgement to him, to which he would still feel unsettled by her care. As his feet touched the floor, Lida brought in a set of actual clothes for him to wear.

Lucifen was going to insist to wear his regular set of leather armor, but knowing how it's condition is fairing ever since most of the pieces were looted off of him, plus the fact that Lida seemed relentless to do things her way, Lucifen bit his tongue.

The new clothing was something Lucifen has never really seen that often. Clothes made of silk that had no protection at all, no armor. Yet alone from it not being something that can protect him, the clothing seemed too noble. No clothing he has ever seen in Bree would appear this fine. Sadly, even for it's amazing detail and texture, the set of clothing was slightly too tight for his chest, which made it stick out slightly.

Shortly afterwards, Lucifen would be reunited with Alekith. Lucifen hadn't seen the man since he agreed to his proposal, and since then the man would appear as if he wore the same clothing from before. Nothing had changed about him since the two last met.

The two would talk with one another as they walked together, discussing many things as well as focusing on introducing Luc to his role.
