[Satire] A hard life



The old man looked up as the next patient entered his room "Ah, welcome lady, please lay down here on the bench. Yes right here, dont be afraid, Im here to help you."

The woman slowly walked to the bench and with some hesitation she rested her head on the pillow, her eyes darted around the room uneasy.

"Relax now, you are safe here".

She looked at him hiding her tears, but her lip was shaking slightly. 

The old man looked at her for a moment and took some notes, then he looked up again "How do you feel?"

The woman looked struck by the odd question "How do I... How do I feel? Is that your first question? How do I feel!? How do you think I feel!? Can't you see how I feel!!"

 

The old man gestured her to calm down "Please calm down, you look somewhat troubled indeed, now usually patients start at the beginning". 

The woman rubbed her temples and closed her eyes for a moment "I am worn out, I dont know who I am anymore... "

The old man stopped taking notes and sneezed hard and inhaled whatever came out of his nostrils, he turned to his notebook again.

Meanwhile the woman kept talking ".. I mean he can not actually be serious, I will marry with whoever I like! Its my life, I am a grown woman now! I ran away you see into the woods, far away from my father. Over mountains, through forests, through the deepest mines I ran. I learned to fight! Stand up for myself! I am an independent woman! I will.... hey... HEY! Are you even listening?"

The old man had dozed off in his chair, very silently snoring. 

Angrily the woman stood up and walked up to him. Her eyes fell on his notebook, he was not writing he was drawing...
