The day began as every other day had since a few years back now for Cenwynne, with work but since the winter had come and gone, the work was beginning to clear up as the work orders were finished, deliveries were made and with the summer fast approaching he felt that he could take a day off. So into Bree he rode and went to the Inn of the Prancing Pony for a drink and a few laughs before he left it, walking around in town to see if he could snap up any ideas or supplies for his work. He spent the entire day in Bree, looking into stores, talking with people and received new work orders for large furniture as he made his way back towards the stable by the south gate.
It was a serene evening, soft scents filled the air as he was taking a walk over the Scholars stairs. It was his usual route before going home, so he can admire the sunset above the town of Bree. Suddenly he sees a figure on the bridge, a woman in a dark dress, with beautiful dark hair that gently plays with the wind. She seemed as if waiting for something, or someone. Pale milky skin was enriched with golden light of the sunset. Mesmerized man stopped and moved away so she does not see him. Everything about her was so familiar and somewhere back in past he knew her, Mynna. Perfect name for beauty that lingers infront of him untouched by the world around her. Time passed and she remained still, nearly not moving at all. Golden rays of sunset turned darker and soon Moon raised up above them. After a few moments standing there admiring the woman he took a deep and silent breath and began to approach her when a man came to her and started to talk to her. Not wanting any trouble Cenwynne backed off from the woman and the newcomer, it seemed that they knew each other well since they started to talk and the man placed an arm around her. Cenwynne sighed quietly, as he turned around and started to walk from the over path, thinking that he would never be close to someone like those two were. Finding a barrel to lean on so he could look at the couple by the over path and the sky itself, Cenwynne stood long and looked at them in brief moments, perhaps feeling a bit jealous of the man but he shook his head, no it was better as it was for now he thought for himself.
After a while he looked over by the little bridge and saw that the man had gone but the woman..the woman was there but she were lying down, something did not feel right about the woman so Cenwynne looked around but no one else was there. He decided to run over to the woman, trying to see where the other man had gone but there was no sign of him, a ghost? Cenwynne thought, no no, no ghost Cen, you're too old to belive in ghost stories he thought. As he approached the woman, the pale moonlight gives away an odd necklace around her neck, as he kneels down by the woman he then realized what happend as a thin cut, right across her throat as if it was intended to slice her throat open shows itself with the blood forming the odd necklace around her neck.. . She seemed to appear lifeless at first glance but a weak breath could be seen on her chest as it gently raised up and fell back down "Miss? Miss Mynna, can you hear me?" Cenwynne said as he tried to get contact with the woman but there was none.
Cenwynne began to rummage through his little bag he had with him on his belt, as the woodworker he was, he usually carried a little pouch of a few strips of cloth and such so if needed he could at least stop any blood spill if he cut himself. He found after a little moment a piece of a bandage that he wrapped around her throat, the bandage instantly turned red from the blood as he looked around and there was no one at all close.
Deciding she could not lay there while, he decided that she needed help, he wrapped another piece of bandage around her throat over the other and picked her up, she were still breathing when he picked her up, perhaps it was not to late he thought as he carried her towards a healer he used to go to when he cut himself, not far from the Scholars Stairs. The healer who lived there opened the door after a few hard knocks from Cenwynne on the door and with her usual grumpy voice asked "What shall this be? A kind of joke?" seeing the woman in his arms "No miss..I found her not far from here, with a weak breath and a cut over her throat." Cenwynne replied "Well why did you not say so when I asked you huh?" the woman spat out "Come come..you cant stand there while she's bleeding to death. That would look bad for me and even worse for you." the woman said and Cenwynne nodded and carried the woman inside and placed her on the bed the old woman gestured towards as she disappeared again.
The woman returned soon and started to make Cenwynne get items for her, a bowl of room tempered water, fresh cloths and bandages and needle and thread as well. She carefully removed the bandages he had placed around the neck to prevent any more loss of blood. The ones that were sitting there now were both drained in blood, as the healer took a piece of cloth and dipped it in the water and started to clean the wound, the cut was deep but thin as if it was made by a thin bladed knife or dagger of some sort. The healer barked out "Give me a new piece of cloth" and Cenwynne did as she told him to do and after a little while the wound were cleaned and the healer asked for Cenwynne to thread the needle with the thread so she could start stitching the wound back together.
After precise work and many stitches the healer rubbed a salve on the wound so it would not become infected and wrapped a new fresh bandage around the neck of the young woman "I stopped the bleeding and patched her throat together but if she will be able to talk I cant say now, the cut was deep and her vocal chords can have become damaged and if so she will never talk again. She will be needing rest and a quiet place."
Cenwynne nodded and walked outside to take some fresh air before he walked in he glanced up in the evening at the stars nodded for himself and went back inside where he took up a place not far from the bed the young woman now layed in, and he closed his eyes and fell asleep.
