III.

Rivendell. Last homely house or something, legendary refuge and she had not a single, infinitesimal idea of how to get there. Because of course it had to be in some mysterious hidden location, deep in the Trollshaws.

Assaj had never been very good at finding her way through thick forests. She wasn't a ranger or used to having to find something in such a location. Not to mention that this wasn't just a forest, it was also an area covered in great amounts of steep cliffs and hills that one did not simply climb. Adding to that, the local fauna (and flora no doubt) weren't always all that friendly. Including the said creature this place was called after: trolls. Idiotic, slow but the savage woman knew better than to attack one and did her best to remain unnoticed.
However, no matter how covert she tried to be, there was always this prickling in the back of her neck .She was being watched and while usually she didn't care, it put her on the edge in this place. As if she didn't have enough on her mind already to deal with.

The guilt she was feeling, as well as the stinging loneliness were eating her away. It had taken her weeks on the road to get over her pride and finally cave in to go find the only person she knew was strong enough and...honorable (hopefully) to help her out. And admitting this scared her more than she was willing to face.
"Weak whelp. Can't fight, can't hate, no good for nutthin'."

After losing the main path two days ago, Assaj had brought herself to climb up the highest hill she saw, in hope to find it back. So after trudging for another day or so, she finally reached the top...only to growl in frustration when the amount of trees didn't help her one bit and blocked her sight of anything of interest for her goal.
No doubt that while she was lost here, the Weakling was only getting into big troubles or was already dying.

Trailing the edge of the cliff, trying to gauge if she could let herself fall down or not without too many chances of a broken leg, she failed to notice the presence approaching her from behind...

~~~
Had anyone told her not even two months ago that she would willingly sell herself for another's sake, she would have laughed and killed them. And yet, for the Weakling, she had given herself to the one raised by golug in exchange for help to find the Weakling.
However, she cursed herself how desperate she had been before him. Spilling her guts, allowing herself to bind her life to his; because no matter him saying she wasn't a slave, no man or orc would resist the chance to order and trample a weaker being than themselves.
'The bloody Weakling better be worth this.' was her last thought before she emptied her mind, bracing herself for the fast and merciless traveling pace they both would be using on their way to Angmar.
