The test of skills

Early that day Caith had took her children and walked over to the old lady next door. Caith's strength had become weaker everyday and her thoughs about Lyth did not help. She tried to accept the thougt that he may be had fallen and no one had found him or did not know about his family. But she was not his wife just yet so maybe no one knowed that she was here waiting for him. The thoughts about leaving her sons and home to go looking for him had crossed her mind but not this time she could not leave her children. They can't lose both there father and mother. So she stayed at home. But somewhere deep inside she never losed the hope he would return one day. Every day she made food so if he would come home then it would be food for him to eat. On the table in the big hall she had start to spend her evenings. Sometime writing, sometime drawing him. At this point the table was coverd with all her pappers. As the sun slowly was going down behind the mountains and she just had clean the floors she could hear a knock on the door. lt was way to early to be the old lady and the boys. She walked to open, she thougt it maybe was someone that wanted to ask for directions. As her eyes falled on to the man that stod outside she froze in her moves for a moment. She could not belive here eyes. It was Lyth. She started to back off to let him in with out saying anything. As she closed the door behind him her tears had start to fall down her cheeks. She looked at him as he tried to take the axe from his back but he droped it on to the floor. Something was wrong with his arm. As she tried to talk to him she noticed he was not him self. At first he even did not admitted  that he was hurted but Caith did not gave up. She keeped talking to him. She tried to make him understand that he was home not in the war. Soon he calmed down and as he open his shirt he saw a open wound to his shoulder. It was abit red but she could see that someone had been taking care of it. So she let the wound bee for now. She wanted to make sure how he was feeling inside. They talked for a moment and she realised that he was hunted even in his soul. That would take time to heal if he ever will after what happened to him. She took him upstairs as the wanted to look at the shoulder once more. They placed them in front of the fire. She started to boil some water and bring the most commond herbs she used for arrow wounds. But as she looked closer at it she saw that it still was some poison coming out from the wound. She tried to get some out on to her finger. She knew about orces poison from her own shoot. This was something else this time. She looked at what she got on to her finger. She smelled it. Something was different, but what. She tried to clean the wound as she tried to figuring out what to do. Then she throw the rag she used in to the fire. As it started to burn she saw how the flames started to change in color. As she realise that her pulse rasied and she started to ask him about the hit. He said that it hand hit him in the end in the battle and as he was hit he falled but tried to get back but falled again on the stairs. As he was saved he described that it was like being trapped in a dream but hearing what was going on around him. Caith looked around her for a moment. Her heart beated fast, her panic level was high. Shr jumped up and whent back to the bookshelf with all her herbs in it. She was looking for something specific. All other herbs and books falled down to the floor. Then she found it she hurried back and started to make a bandage with the herbs she took out earlier and then she pour some liquid on to it. She looks up on him and noticed that he looks at her. She had been talking tp her self during all her work. She just smiles at him but tells him to sit still because she thought this could hurt. And it did. As soon as she got it in place Lyth pulled it off screaming. But Caith just took it up again and placed it back. She told him he needed to trust her and keep it there. And he did. As she now had done what she could she clamed down. After cleaning the floor and making sure there was nothing more to take care off they sat by the fire waiting for the sons to come back. Finally he was home...
