My innermost thoughts, XVII. - The verdict.

Two have I spoken to. Two I entrusted with the secret of what I plan to do. Neither can be trusted.

Yet my heart is not in this, I feel the strain of my father's raging spirit within me. And my sense that I do not want to follow him. Nor his untimely demise. Is it a possibility to simply let go? To forget. To forego vengeance. The path that ultimately twisted him so much that he was too far gone and thus beyond saving from himself. A cold-blooded and indiscriminate killer. What am I if not that when it suits? One of them must have done so all must die? Though I have no doubt each of the suspects probably deserve it for one reason or another. But can I pin this crime on them? They certainly both had motive. I just don't know what to think.

Either way, the Spymaster's lover nor the man who was once my own love's suitor can be trusted. Or believed.

This much is now clear to me.

And thus my verdict is to include them no further in this game.
