THE QUEST OF THE MAP: THE JOURNEY WEST - TRAVELDATES
DEPARTURE FROM EREBOR
- TA 3018 July 16 - The day of my departure has arrived. All my supplies have been strapped onto the saddle of my pony (I will need to think of a name for him soon!) Was hard saying goodbye to mother and father but they expressed their faith in me to return with a wellmade copy of Thrór's map.
- TA 3018 July 17 - A last stop at Dale for some last supplies.
- TA 3018 July 18 - Travelling West towards Mirkwood where I will meet up with an Elfen guide.
MIRKWOOD
- TA 3018 July 19 - Entered Mirkwood under the watchfull eye of an Elfen guide named Aetheleon Taurelasse. He will guide me through the forest towards the West.
- TA 3018 July 24 - Crossed a small darkwatered stream today. The air was thick in that area and made my eyes burn and sting, as if I hadn't slept in days.
- TA 3018 July 26 - Finally exited the cobweb covered forest of Mirkwood today and said goodbye to my Elfish Guide. It's good to feel some sun on my face again and breath some fresh air.
ANDUIN EAST BANK
- TA 3018 July 28 - Reached the banks of the great River Anduin. A small Island with a flattened top is lying in its centre. I believe it is called Carrock by Beorn's kin if I remember it correctly. It's also the spot where the Eagles took the company of Master Thorin.
ANDUIN WEST BANK
- TA 3018 July 29 - Crossed the Anduin at the Carrock. I think I saw Eagles up high in the sky, but it could have been simple birds nonetheless. I'd like to believe it where Eagles though!
- TA 3018 July 30 - First Steps on the West bank of the River Anduin.
THE GLADDEN FIELDS - ANDUIN WEST BANK
- TA 3018 August 5 - Entered the area of the Gladden Fields. Although I am sticking to the banks of the River Anduin, the smell of the nearby marshlands is overwhelming. The whole area reeks of death and decay. At times, when the fogg is lifting, I can see old pieces of armour on the bottom of the shallow parts of the river, I wonder what happened here in the past.
- TA 3018 August 9 - Finally left the Gladden Fields behind me. What a sad place...
UNKNOWN AREA
- TA 3018 August 10- I entered an unknown area today while heading west towards Barazinbar in the Misty Mountains. Despite the fact that the gold and red forest lying on the horizon in the South must have a name, I know it not.
- TA 3018 August 13 - Reached the slopes of Barazinbar.
BARAZINBAR
- TA 3018 August 14 - Entered Barazinbar. Heavy snowfall has covered the roads and passes.
- TA 3018 August 16 - The Sky is clearing on the horizon of the pass. I hope to be exiting the snowcovered pass soon.
HOLLIN (EREGION)
- TA 3018 August 18 - Last steps leading my pony through the snow of Barazinbar. Entering Hollin.
- TA 3018 August 21 - Arrived at Echad Eregion.
- TA 3018 August 24 - Arrived at Gwingris.
THE TROLLSHAWS
- TA 3018 August 26 - Entered the Trollshaws.
- TA 3018 August 27 - Crossed the Ford of Bruinen.
- TA 3018 August 28 - Arrival at Tâl Bruinen.
- TA 3018 August 30 - Following the old descriptions of Thorin's travel to Erebor, I managed to find the famed three Trolls turned to stone and the hidden herd in the dense forest.
THE LONE LANDS
- TA 3018 September 2 - Crossed the Last Bridge and entered the descolate Lone Lands.
- TA 3018 September 5 - Arrival in Ost Guroth.
- TA 3018 September 7 - Arrival in Iorvinas. Spend the night under the watchfull eye of Refr Quicksilver who had quite some tales to tell.
- TA 3018 September 8 - Travelling in the shadow of Amon Sûl.
- TA 3018 September 9 - Arrival in Annunlos. Spend three nights in the Forsaken Inn.
BREE-LANDS
- TA 3018 September 13 - Entered Bree-Lands.
- TA 3018 September 15 - Arrival in Bree. Spend two nights in the Prancing Pony.
- TA 3018 September 18 - Arrival in Southern Bree-Fields.
THE SHIRE
- TA 3018 September 20 - Crossed the Brandywine Bridge and entered the Shire. The end of the Journey is in sight.
- TA 3018 September 20 - Arrival in Stock.
- TA 3018 September 21 - Arrival in Bywater. Spend two nights in the famed Green Dragon.
- TA 3018 September 25 - Arrival in Bagg-End, Hobbiton. Found Master Bilbo's burrow to be abandoned. Neighbouring Hobbits told me the rumours (appearantly the rumourmill in the Shire has the same functionality as the Tablets of Khazadgund when it comes to sharing the latest news) that Master Bilbo left for Rivendell about 17 years ago. They also told me Master Bilbo's nephew Frodo (?) Baggins disapeared two days ago with 3 other Hobbits. I can not recall the names however. I guess my Journey will take me back east to visit Rivendell if I ever want to make a copy of Master Thrór's map of Erebor.
