The Beginnings of the Eldar and their Kin:
In the beginning, we were a sparse people... counted to only a mere 144 elves born as the stars were raised in the heavens. It began at first as a light among nothingness, a sleep fading from the eyes and souls... and finally, we looked long upon the stars and we loved them with everything we were, and finally prying our eyes from the stars we beheld the waters of Lake Cuivienen, and we once again felt the press of love in our souls... It was after our initial movements that we came together, creating a place for ourselves, then finally going out and naming all we set our eyes upon. Creating poetry and song as we danced in the never ending light of the stars... Until soon creatures came forth from the darkness tormenting us until many fled away from the security of our home... never to return. Soon came Orome, the Hunter, a being of undeniable light... eyes speaking of lands we could only dream of as we looked longingly upon the stars. It was he who eventually left and returned with with aid and offers to return us and our people to this land from which he came. Many went, myself included, to see this wondrous new land were no foul spirits of strange twisted creatures could spring at us from the darkness. Some however stayed, beginning the tale of the Avari, known now as the Moriquendi It was my people, the Noldor, and those of the Vanyar and few Teleri who succeeded in our venture through dark places even the star did not light to reach the shores of our new home, stepping onto an island that floated us to this new wondrous land we would come to know as Valinor.
And thusly ends the accounting of the first of many long and perilous years of the lives of my people and I... perhaps soon I shall write of others, since the Valar seek to teach us I may as well use the time I have.
