The woman packed her belongings and whistled for her horse. She smiled while she was thinking about another journey that just began. She glanced towards the camp for the last time then began to ride off slowly. It was another of her lone journeys that she got accustomed to. She knew that she can only count on herself all the time.
She was riding past the field and farms that could be seen in the distance, staying on her guard but sometimes also getting lost in her thoughts and memories. The memories of the friends of old, Gondorn and Ornessar - the closest ones she has to a family, that is excluding her husband. How were they doing? She hoped that they were alright and was thinking when she will see them again. Amwynn, another of her friends. Was she able to be happy once again after all what have happened to them? Carrenhil... She even stopped for a while. What about her? Does she even remember who The Forngarmo is? Or Has she forgotten about her? All that Katrandil knew as that Carrenhil left no one knows where without a single word and that she haven't talked to Galad since a long time. Then her thoughts were finally focused on Faerollas. She smiled as she was thinking about her training and the ties between her and her tutor. She knew that she would give her life for him or any of her closest friends. Then she got focused on the task again, moving on.
She was riding towards the city on the border of Bree and The North Downs while the last words of her father sounded in her mind again. "Do not trust anyone until you will feel that you can..." - She repeated them to herself then hastened her horse. The Battle that was taking place in her mind... no one knew about it. She was feeling responsible for her father's death. Was she even able to save him? Those were the questions with no answer. But she promised her father to stay strong, and so she was doing.
"Do not ever fall into despair, don't let your light fade into the shadows, Galad." - She said to herself,, finishing the sentence with the words of Elrond.
Katrandil then spotted the shapes of the buildings in the distance but also... the smoke coming from the place. Was it possible that the town has been assaulted? She nudged her horse and the smoke and the fires became more visible. "No! The Trestlebridge..." - She said to herself then finally entered the city and also The North Downs.
"I need to search for Nellie Boskins, I need to know that she is alive. We need to do something to help the people. We need to rebuild the city. But why? Why am I saying that? It shouldn't be my concern. I am not the leader of those people. But... But I have sworn to protect them! I have failed..." - She said to herself then walked into Nellie's House, keeping her head down.
