Annúngil, the West Star, is the sword of Curulon, a Ranger of the North. It is an ancient blade, forged long ago by the Men of Númenór, now kept as an heirloom of their line. It is said to be a bane of orcs and undead, and the Shadow in the north has long since come to fear it.
