Journal of Captain Iriul of Tinnudir

The Keep still stands, and the bridge is still tread by folk i can call friends.
It's now that I'm alone, and i've found some peace that I sit and feel more at home with these duties. I have yet to feel like I've earned this Captaincy though, and to firmly lay claim to it, I must have it acknowledged.
Vinti Alaghir had many around him to give him council, and i find myself alone entirely.
My two companions from Bree offered me well meant advice and insult, whatever this combination means.
An acquaintance to Aeruthuil, and kinswoman to us both, has joined me. Nyssalvia transferred to me by her own request, and her encouragement bolsters me. It's to be said, that the woman shares my bed, but the seperation of duty and love has been made crystal clear. Of this, there will never be any doubt.
She joined me to Imladris, that i've only heard talk of. Vinti ventured many times, but I stayed behind. He held his friendship to the elves above all others, and rightly so. Ariewen councilled him through long and heavily tested years. Some distant relation to her, Aamu has also joined my company. It is a great relief to have her wisdom at hand aswell, though Aamu wears no dress or keeps no quartermaid at her side...Aamu might be better fit to keep our grim company than Ariewen was, it remains to be seen.
In Imladris. I made my appearance short, and informal. Yet the presence of three people left a deeper impression than even Ariewen did. Lord Elechir, his wife Elechiril, and their dwarven friend Vagnur Ninefingers. The Lord and his lady lit up the hall of fire with their presence, and Vagnur was the one to speak the most. An ambassador, truly - and if i was prompted to guess, Lord Elechir would be royalty.
We left their hospitality in Imladris, and I did not expect much at first. The difference between myself and Alaghir seemed then to be a vast gap, for i didn't feel to hold up in such powerful company. It was thusly more of a surprise when a raven flew to Tinnudir, bearing a letter from Vagnur Ninefingers himself. It was a relief to read. Some acknowledgement of our duties here at the Keep. Some recognition, from so far away. We continue to forge this friendship now by the pen. It is of great importance to me.
