A good dose of humour.
Renewed sense of vigour.
These final days in Bree-land have been surprisingly entertaining.
Seaver has managed to claw his way down my list of disliked people and now occupies the third spot, behind Laayla and the wretches with whom I suffered my youth. My conversations with the man, though often far more honest than I suspect either of us would like, have nevertheless been a highlight of this last week.
My time has otherwise been occupied with preparation or the company of Aeruthuil, perhaps the only man I have met to turn down an offer of a night with me! He has his reasons of course, and ones that I fully admire. As much as I dislike his partner, I would never seek to ruin his relationship with her. Indeed, I was under the impression that the two had parted ways or else I would never have made that proposition! Be that as it may, teasing the man with suggestions of corruption has been a thoroughly enjoyable distraction! I can only assume that he agrees for he has returned to my camp once already and, if nothing else, his spirits seem somewhat lifted by the time he departs my company.
In hindsight, I should have burned that coal sooner. The destruction of what once tied me to Eordion has had a wonderfully cathartic effect, allowing me to free my heart and mind from the follies of this past year. It has also restored my humour and gifted me a sense of freedom that I had not realised was slowly ebbing away. As much as it hurt for a day or two, I believe Eordion's choice was the correct one for all concerned.
To that end, I have one last stop to make before I retrieve my goods and ride to the north. I have a promise to keep. One last farewell to the man who, I am told, has most certainly traded down. To Eordion's house then...
And afterwards, to Fornost!
