Lana was glad to see that Sardan was still in one piece when he returned to Bree and that she got the chance to tell him, that she changed her mind and would join him. It still stroke her as a crazy idea, but she'd been so worried, that she had to make sure Sardan won't travel all by himself.
He seemed to appreciate her decision, but something felt off.
He was more serious and determined on leaving Bree than before and there was barely the time for him to just banter a little with Lana, as they used to.
She tried to cheer him up, but even the dance she offered him in Bree only got replied with distance and self-control.
Instead he was focused on finding even more people who could possibly join them, as in Milner - an easy going and often joking Hunter of Bree.
It wasn't too hard for Lana to like Milner, as he not only shared her passion for a good hunt, he was also funnier than Sardan, atleast most of the time.
He challenged her to a little shooting match, which she won easily.
Other than Sardan, Milner seemed to join the group for reasons Lana couldn't really see so far, but he was definitely more hopeful and confident about the success of their expedition.
He was thankful that Lana offered him one of her horses, Freddik, to use for the travel.
Beside all that, Lana learned that orcs got seen around the Lone Lands with a strange white sign in their shields, from a man called Wulfney - the probably most giggly of the few men she met already. But when he told her about the news from the Lone Lands, he was actually concerned that Bree will get under attack.
On top of that, Sardan hired a sellsword named Thorn.
Lana didn't ask him where he's from or something the like, but he took the offered coins as his reason to leave Bree with them.
How would this travel be?
A serious and determined man like Sardan, the easy-going Hunter Milner, the sellsword Thorn and in between Lana - the girl who likes to go hunting and who surely doesn't have an idea of what lies before her but who would like to take the opportunity to leave her personal problems behind. Maybe it was the beginning of something new and something good.
