Entry 1: Youth, Wine, and Angry Men

It has only been a few short days since I have arrived to Bree-town, the people here have treated me negatively in such a short time. Much of my reception consisted of stares, uncomfortable looks, and a sick obsession with attempts in teasing me or defacing my image because of my origins.

But I have met a few friends along the way: there was that short one, a halfling in the lands they call Eregion. He called himself a Bounder. My curiosity is piqued because a protector of their lands calls themselves one who can run long distances with.. long legs? Perhaps it has more to do with boundaries. I digress on the matter.

The previous evening, I made one of my first trips to this "Prancing Pony", the place where men and women stop to eat, drink, and share thoughts and feelings with one another. I walked up to the bar and ordered some of the wine, which was watered-down and almost tasteless--a disappointment compared to the wines of my home. But that was not the highlight of the evening.

A slender, feminine man with pointy ears whipped me in the face with his wonderfully-arranged braid of black hair, causing me to be sputtered and confused. When I tried to arrange for peaceful talks, another man in a hood intervened and made thinly-veiled threats to physically harm me.

It made me rather uncomfortable and disappointed, but it has only been a few days since my arrival here. Things will hopefully improve.

Despite making it to my destination, I feel my journey is far from over.
