Journal Entry 2

It's times like these when I'm grateful for a notebook to keep my thoughts in.  It was like any other day, when I came into the Prancing Pony, and bought Cesistya and myself some tea to drink.  A girl I never met came up and announced to us Pastel was in the care of the watch doctors in the jailhouse... and I never had seen Ces so upset before.  Though it was nothing compared to what came after the happenings inside.  Had to chat with Appledore in order to get to the back.  Pastel simply lay there with a broken rib, peeling skin, and who knows what else whoever grabbed her did to the poor child.  It was then she passed away, with no hope of healing her, that I saw Cesistya begin to weep... Never thought I'd see an elf so kindhearted as her, let alone see her cry the way she did..  I tried to comfort her, but it didn't help, though a good look at Pastel's drawing of her and two others did get a chuckle from me.

I then had to write up a letter to the watch, basically reporting to them about what happened, since Cesistya insisted they wouldn't listen to her, even with my word behind hers.  I wrote what I could to them, and now hope they can respond with at least a few answers or some help in finding the culprits of the case.

Still things are going well at the farm, which is better than what I can say about the rest of today.
