Letter to Northom - The first

To Northom,

My husband,

My family and myself are well, the father seems to come to himself yesterday, he opened his eyes for few hours. Healer is not optimistic, he claims his insides were poisoned by the spirit he drank on our wedding, the spirit that was twenty two years old, just as he made it on my year of birth. Strange is the fate that played it like this.

Mother is by his bed most of the time, since he cant move or..do things himself. The room smells of urin and death, i fear I will never make peace with him, that we will never be close again.

Brothers took over the works on the farm, free of fathers nagging their mood got better, and they work harder then before. They agreed to sell the lands that we cant use to pay the debt and interest rates to your father. I expect with the harvest last coin will be returned and we will meet new season without any debts.

Newharrow is blossoming, the Inn under care of Deorda is thriving, full of visitors and locals. I have rented it to Deorda for small sum, hoping she will buy it off in few years. The way business is going, she will be full owner in no time.

The land is now mostly sold out, many took interest to settle down away from Bree into a safe valley of Newharrow. The department of Bree watch is established in old Mill on top of the Pimpernel hill. The builder, master Ottho is fast with his work and I cant describe how content we are to have him here, his workers are having a lot of meal breaks, but they are quick on work when needed.

Berny the Beekeeper is among new villagers, his honey is so aromatic. Blacksmith Lowan and his wife-to-be Amy, she works in the Mad Boar Inn as cook, also are new faces in village.

And Northom, I want to meet you in Bree, we should talk.

Lisbeth
