Aeruthuil runs through the woods, his panting loud in the midst of the night. With a sudden shudder he comes to a halt near a creek. Top of the hill there stood a tree, and a young woman with firy red hair.
He slowly moves through the high grass, his eyes never moving away from the woman. The woman was holding holding something, something wrapped up in blankets, something small he could have swear had been breathing.. Aeruthuil's own breathing pauses watching the young mother, a small smile forming on his lip at the familiarity.
Feeling his heart beat in his chest as if it was trying to escape and find home somewhere else he continues to move up the hill. His smile slowly turning in to a concerned frown, it almost seemed no matter how hard he tried, he did not move.
The young woman suddenly looks over her shoulder. Icy blue eyes looking down on him, her full lips tugged in to a soft smile. Aeruthuil's heart starts racing in his chest, "Ayla.." he whispers, the small smile reappearing on his face again as his eyes settle on hers. Only seconds pass before the night sky grew darker, as if the stars never had a place up above. The sudden wind bringing along an icy chill, and with it there were hooded people.
"Ayla!" Aeruthuil shouted, his voice echoing through the night, but he could not move. The feeling of his heart wishing to burst through his chest overwhelming until it stops for a few seconds the moment a long blade pierces the young mother. Aeruthuil opens his mouth, but no sound but the thud of the woman falling to the ground and the last breath she took was heard. There was no crying, the baby had vanished.
Aeruthuil screams, opening his eyes he sits up straight with a grunt. His face wet from the sweat, and a series of shudders surprising him. He looks around, the sight of the camp familiar as he starts to calm down. Tears however forming in his eyes as he casts them down to his hands. On his left thumb a leathery ring clearly visible. It had been handmade from the looks of it, the slight woven patterns finished with a few small knots. He closes his eyes as tears run down his cheek, only a faint whisper sounding in the form of a sigh from his lips, "Ayla.."
