Keep going

I was almost reluctant to leave the river behind. The freezing waters did feel so very good against the burning flesh of my leg and it helped enormously to be able to utilise the fresh water to clean the wound out. Still, I have to keep going. I have to press on. I have to find Steel, find safety and find answers.

A few miles down the road, I came to something of a crossroads. To one side, Trestlebridge lies in the distance which, of course, is my ultimate destination. The road is a semi-gentle trek but it does mean taking the long route. I could take a shortcut across the grasslands, but the terrain there is somewhat more difficult to traverse right now.

Either path will have to wait. The light grows dim and with it the air becomes ever more chill. I need to find shelter for the night. Though I had planned to simply pass by Minas Vrun for the moment, it does offer several nooks and crannies into which I can stuff myself for an eve.Plus it may offer some insight into what happened to me. It's the last place I remember being. Maybe Steel is still here too.
