Chronicled in Staddle in Bree-land of Eriador,
On this the 70th day of Rhîw in the Year 3018 of the Third Age.
Swift indeed are raven's* wings over Emyn Beraid, for today there came a further letter from Mithlond; and I deem Annúngilthor somewhat presumptuous concerning my role within Istari Nalmë, for he has set for me a task - nay, two tasks - that to me seem overwhelming.
For though he deems my youthfulness a boon, I deem that it is my very greenness that entitles him - or so he seems to think - to impose this burden upon me! Alas, I have not the will to refuse, for I owe him my allegiance for my pupilage within the halls of the Great Library; and besides, his promise of books unlimited is an alluring gift!
((The entry continues at an obviously later time in a calmer hand...))
Althand! My doubt is unwarranted, for in his first letter he told that he holds me trustworthy, and therefore this considerable task is surely a measure of that trust. Honoured I should feel, and not bemoaning my fate like a frustrated child.
De charathon!

Greatly intrigued am I by his allusion to the letter of Isferon that I carry, and its link to my father. What could be this knowledge that Forgamthan need impart now I am come of age; that my father himself would have shared with me had he not perished? My mind is afire with questions, and my heart yearns to simply tear open its seal and uncover the truth! But nay, I am not dishonourable, for in truth I honour these scholars, and it seems both my past and my fate is bound to all three: Annúngilthor and Isferon and Forgamthan.
Thus shall I wait until I come to Imladris for this secret to be unmasked, but now I yearn to reach the Last Homely House all the sooner; may Todsi's caravan speed me thither without further delay.
* It should be assumed that these messenger ravens that carry letters between Angollon and Mithlond are distantly related to Carc and his son Roäc of Ravenhill near Erebor. In LotRO Angollon, as a lore-master, has a 'pet' raven named Guruthos who presumably could be used as such.
