Gathered Thoughts - Visits to Towerglan

A series of written thoughts stashed away in a box of parchment, written meticulously and precisely, as if the writer had taken great pains to make their handwriting as legible and clear as possible. The handwriting plods along at a steady pace, but some crossed out words pop up here and there.

It's been a busy few days. I've found myself stopping by Towerglan more frequently recently. Most of my deliveries lead there, and everyone in the family managed to fall in love with Owena's baking and kept asking me to go fetch some of sweets and breads whenever the road takes me there. It's not hard to see why, though. Owena's a bloody sweetheart and her baking really is delicious, just like Audea. I stopped by last week and encountered the Jester brothers Loakee and Baldvin, along with the woman named Silver, and Owena herself. Miss Haritha was also dropped by, but she didn't stay for long and went outside with Silver to talk about something.

I had the gifts for the brothers' birthdays with me when I came to visit (and thank the stars they were there for once, I'd held onto the pins for ages), and they seemed real pleased with the pins. The pins are now stuck onto the lapels of the jesters' collars, and it was nice to see some smiles on their faces, even if I don't trust Loakee all too much still. There were a time when Baldvin once ran into me while he were drunk and hurting, and some of the things he's told me made me realize that we actually had a lot more in common than I thought. It's made me a bit more trusting of the blue jester, though both of the brothers still have a tendency to be evasive about themselves when asked personal questions. We chatted a bit more, and then we all found out that Owena had been given a ridiculously expensive necklace as a gift of admiration (goodness, gold and rubies, how rich was this man??) and that Silver still seemed to pine after Loakee, which left things rather... awkward, but then I remembered that I had a delivery I'd forgotten and went off to finish that.

After running to get the forgotten delivery done and noticing Owena's bakery was empty, I made my way over to the White Wolf Inn, where I found Baldvin, the woman named Silver, and a Rohirric couple named Taala and Eroforth.

Things started innocent enough, I introduced myself to the couple, who seemed interested in my work as a blacksmith and seemed like they might stop by and make a visit to the forges. Baldvin - bless that man, he knows how to make a good advertisement - then showed them the pin I had crafted for his birthday gift. It made a good impression on them, so I may have interested customers on my hands.

The chatter soon took a cruder turn however, and everyone soon landed in the midst of a conversation about romance and... well, the more crude aspects about it and marriage. The Silver woman made a joke about how Baldvin would have slapped Loakee with his... (there are lots of crossed out words here) rod... and it was a big effort not to gasp in revulsion. Even Baldvin looked horrified at that joke. The other two laughed, and I decided to keep quiet because I were afraid they'd mock me for my prudishness and call me a killer of merrymaking.

All three were... very open and crude, but I think the Silver woman had to be the most disgusting. I'd already met her before once at Owena's bakery, where she talked about being a transcriber of old tomes of sorts. She seemed more interested in boasting about her finds and achievements, however, and as the bakery filled with more people, she gravitated towards a queer dark-skinned man and spent the rest of the time I was there making gross, explicit jokes involving moaning and sticking her fingers into food, from what little snippets I could hear and see. The joke she made about the jester brothers had to be the worst yet; I'm certain that if the joke had been made about my sister and me, no one would have been laughing. Stars, most folk around here wouldn't dare make such an inappropriate comment about a pair of siblings.

The married couple seemed a tad more tame, though, and Taala paid for my drink when I first came in, which was really nice of her. She said she might drop by the forge some day, and Hucklebush's taught me that interested customers should be customers you don't offend no matter what, which is why I held my tongue during the cruder banter. They were just getting on the subject of romantic preferences when I made my great escape home, where Hilda were waiting for me asking when (redacted) would come by to give her dancing lessons.

I miss (redacted). I haven't seen (redacted) since the time we got drunk together at my place. Apparently Finn had the brilliant idea to ambush (redacted) as (redacted) was finished working for the day, and I could tell (redacted) wasn't all too thrilled about my brother's shenanigans. (Redacted) loved Hilda's stuffed bunny gift and apology though, so maybe, just maybe, she'll warm up to the idea of us being together. Hilda and I are now finalizing the rent and moving arrangements for the new house, so there'll be plenty of opportunities for (redacted) to come visit and for Hilda to talk and learn dancing with (redacted).

Finn's still an arse, though. He told (redacted) that I liked to climb things when drunk. I don't remember doing anything of the sort while drunk!
